Licensed Acupuncturist and board certified herbalist in Longmont, Colorado.
My journey started with going the western medicine route first. I saw tons of doctors- most who spent about 5-10 minutes speaking to me and wanted to prescribe me yet another pill. On many occasions, I felt that they weren’t really listening to me, and had no solutions to offer me other than surgery or another medication which caused lots of side effects. I thought, surely there must be another way?! I recognized ( & still do), that some medications and surgeries are life-saving! But I wanted to use those as a last resort, not as a first option. I also wanted to understand the root cause of why I was experiencing so much discomfort.
While studying Health and Wellness at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, I decided to try acupuncture and Chinese medicine for my health issues. My roommate at the time had great results using acupuncture and herbal medicine to clear her acne and she encouraged me to give it a shot. I was slightly skeptical, and knew virtually nothing about it.
After a few sessions, I needed to learn more and more about Chinese medicine. I was amazed at what Acupuncturists could learn about the body from studying the tongue and pulse, how relaxed I felt after treatment, and how good my body felt when taking medicinal herbs. My health had improved drastically since incorporating acupuncture, herbal medicine, and even nutrition protocols.
In 2015, I started a four year Master’s program studying Acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. Throughout my career I have been blessed in studying with leaders in the field of Chinese medicine- Dr. Randine Lewis (a well known fertility specialist) and Jeffrey Yuen, a renowned teacher of Chinese medicine and Daoist priest. I currently continue my studies in Chinese medicine with Damo Mitchell & Rob Aspell through Xian Tian College of Chinese medicine.
I consider myself a lifelong learner, and am always immersing myself in books and learning from the best teachers so that i can best help my patients. Aside from being a Longmont Acupuncturist and herbalist, I enjoy learning photography, skating, cooking, gardening and tending to plants, and spending time hiking the trails in Boulder with my partner and dog.
I look forward to helping you to achieve your health goals and seeing you BLOOM!
