Samantha Kloss L.AC- My Journey in becoming an Acupuncturist

Hi!

If we haven’t met yet- I am Samantha Kloss( L.Ac, Dipl.O.M.), an acupuncturist and board certified clinical herbalist currently practicing in Longmont, Colorado.

In my younger years, I was dealing with lots of health issues that conventional medicine didn’t have solutions or answers for. I was tired of being told to just take “birth control”, or another medication that caused lots of side effects. I was curious to find the root cause and wanted to understand why these symptoms and imbalances were occurring in the first place. I had horrible acne, for which I was on antibiotics and birth control to attempt to treat it for several years. I now cringe at that fact, knowing that my gut health was severely compromised from such a young age. Don’t get me wrong, antibiotics are lifesaving. But they are often overprescribed and taken for too long which sets you up for major gut issues which can cause inflammation and immune issues in the future. (They also did not really help my acne in the long term, after I stopped taking antibiotics).

After lots of suffering and no answers, I searched for other ways of healing that took a more holistic, whole person approach to medicine. It was then that I found acupuncture and Chinese medicine in 2014 by the suggestion of my college roommate. When I went to see an acupuncturist, I was amazed at what they could tell from looking at my tongue, taking my pulse, and talking with me about my diet, lifestyle, etc. It was definitely the most comprehensive medical visit I had ever had. I could tell that they approached health in a different way and I was excited to see what kind fo results I would get from treatment.

After a series of treatments (and drinking my not-so-tasty herbal prescription at home), I noticed more body awareness, more energy, better sleep, less anxiety, clearer skin, less pain, etc. In fact, acupuncture and Chinese medicine didn’t only change my life, but it also changed my career. In 2015, I enrolled in a four year Master’s Program at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. In 2019, I graduated at the top of my class with a Master’s in Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbal medicine) and immediately took all four of my national board exams to become licensed in the state of Colorado. I have since been treating patients since 2017, and officially licensed for 4 years in Colorado- working with all kinds of patients, but especially focusing and specializing in women’s health, fertility, gut issues, chronic pain, emotional balance, and holistic skin care.

When you’ve been dealing with chronic issues and pain since your younger years, let me tell you- restoring your health can be a JOURNEY. And because of this, i’ve learned so much along the way including what does work, what doesn’t work, and what the best approaches are for lots of situations, which makes me uniquely qualified to help you.

If you are searching for acupuncture in the Longmont area, thank you so much for entrusting me with your care! You’re in good hands and I cannot wait to work with you and help you to achieve your health goals so you too can start thriving!
